a shout out to my pups!

dogs make life better. i truly believe that. i know i will always have them in my life! :) gotta give a shout out to my pups because i love them so so so so sooooo much! (and p.s. did you know dogs can smell cancer?)

"The Iz"
"Juudles"
"Jamers"

first of all is IZZY! (middle name kalin)
we rescued her 2 decembers ago. she is about 1.5 years old and we're not quite sure what she is! we know that one of her parents is a shiba inu, and she obviously looks part lab. she might also have boxer or pitbull in her, too. even though she is our youngest and most recent addition.... she is the biggest! (that we've ever had) she sleeps with me every night, gets up no later than 6am every morning, and loves her big brother, jude more than anything else (except possibly food!) she's a sweetheart but does have an aggressive side, so we have to be careful with food. but we love her!

Second is JUDE! we rescued him, as well, but since he wasn't as young as izzy was, his resuce was a little more important. he was abused, which is unimaginable to us, because he is the sweetest an most loving little lab beagle mix you'll ever get to know. many people say "he has a sadness in his eyes" but we know he is happy with us, in his new "forever home". he is almost 3 and has been with us for a few years now. his number 1 love is DEFINITELY going on walks (but i think his love for us is tied in with that at 1st place!). even if you mention the word walk to him, he goes insane. he cries, whines, and jumps at the door until you strap on his bright blue harness and leash! then his beagle senses take over and nothing can get past his little sniffing snout! his 2nd love is sleep. he lovessss to sleep in big comfy beds, out on the porch in the sun, on couches, rugs, or big blankets piled up! his 3rd love is rawhide bones. he usually goes outside about 50% of the time that our other dogs go out, but when we bring him home a rawhide bone from the deli he will stay outside ALL NIGHT chewing on it, if we let him!

when we first got izzy, he was NOT happy. he meshed well with our dog, jamie, who we already had, but to get another 1 after him...well, that was a big no-no in his eyes. the fact that izzy was immediately taken with him did not help the situation. she still, to this day, will follow him everywhere and want to play with him above anyone else. we can really tell she looks up to him and respects him, and even though he has warmed to the reality of her staying with us forever, he doesn't really return her feelings. he has a little problem of growling and barking at anyone who comes in our house, but we know he is just protecting us in the way he thinks fit. we love him soooo much and are so happy we could make his life better than what it was before.

Jude

last,  BUT NOT LEAST, is my baby, JAMIE. he is the love of my life, and i wish i could keep him forever. he is an 11 year old, purebred shetland sheepdog, or "sheltie". he is oversized for a sheltie, and could never be a show dog like his parents, because his mommy only had 2 pups in that liter, so he grew more than the average sheltie did before he was born! he is also canadian! he has a little tattoo on his tum because thats apparently what they do in canada. he has been a wonderful part of our lives for 11 years and we hope he has many more left in him! before we got jude and izzy, we had a another sheltie named brady. unfortunately he passed away a few years ago, and we know jamie misses him just as much as we do. RIP Brady. jamie is a simple pup. he isn't big on walks, but will gladly join iz and jude on one! though he is a bit older, he still loves to play outside with our puppy, iz. they run and jump and bark together. jamie is completely obsessed with food. OBSESSED. i cant stress the word enough. he also loves back scratches, his family, and barking. even though he is a little stinky, he is my schnookums and i love him so so so much! he is an adorable, loving, and special member of our family.

Jamie
